Pink roses in the cottage garden

A cottage with roses suggest different things to each of us, but for many…it means pink roses around the door.  Or climbing up over the window.  Pink roses are the traditional rose for the cottage garden and while all colors can be used, there is something almost fairy tale about pink.  Maybe because it compliments all the other colors of the cottage garden, usually full of blooms in white, lavender, blue, yellow, and all shades of pink.  While red is often used as well, it is often the dark purple/red.  So, if you want to start a cottage garden…consider pink roses, for your cottage with roses.
